Lady Maisery

In an English folk scene currently bursting with bold and innovative folk music, vocal trio Lady Maisery shine brightly and you can see them perform live at Martlets Hall on Sunday 18 March at 7:30pm.

With their harmony singing, intelligent and thoughtful arrangements of both traditional repertoire and original compositions, Hazel Askew, Hannah James and Rowan Rheighamns harness and celebrate their united voice. Whether unearthing a feminist twist hidden in a traditional tale, delivering a poignant anti-war ballad, or showcasing their immense multi-instrumental talents in original compositions that draw on a myriad of musical influences, Lady Maisery are skilful explorers of the power, beauty and vitality of song. Over the past 5 years the trio have toured widely, performing to sell-out shows across the UK and Europe.

Let West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service provide all your fire training needs

It’s a shocking statistic but 60-70% of businesses that have to close for one day after a fire never re-open.

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service would like to ensure that every business in the county has the knowledge and resources to prevent a fire from occurring in the first place, but to also know how to protect themselves through business continuity if the worst happens.

The Fire Service has a dedicated team of instructors and officers able to provide training, advice and guidance on all aspects of commercial fire safety; from basic fire awareness and extinguisher training for all employees to dedicated fire warden training and fire risk assessment courses for appointed members of staff. Course information and booking options are available online by visiting www.westsussex.gov.uk/frsct

It’s extremely important to remember that your fire risk assessment is a working document and should be reviewed and updated regularly. Training courses can be tailor-made to suit your business and are designed to complement the findings in your fire risk assessment.

For those businesses that require specialist training, the fire service can also offer courses on breathing apparatus, working in confined spaces, working at height and water rescue training.

Courses can be delivered on site at your premises or nominated members of staff can attend one of our regular seminars held at fire stations throughout the county. All training courses are run by experienced service trainers, many of whom are operational firefighters.

For further information or for an informal discussion of your particular needs, please contact WSFRS’s Commercial Training Department on 01903 228400 or on frsct@westsussex.gov.uk.  Please quote: CN0117 when calling.
