Northern Arc Planning application set for consideration

Northern Arc sketchAn outline planning application for the Northern Arc development in Burgess Hill is expected to be considered by the Mid Sussex District Council planning committee in October. The application, which was submitted by Homes England in December 2018, sets out the scale and nature of the proposed Northern Arc development in Burgess Hill.

The Northern Arc development includes a new community of approximately 3,500 homes (30% affordable) employment opportunities, three new schools, health provision, improved pedestrian and cycle connections, sports and leisure opportunities and new highways infrastructure.

At the end of the summer, Homes England also submitted a planning application for a bridge and link road – which will connect Isaacs Lane to Freeks Farm in the eastern part of the site – to relieve traffic pressure and support the construction of the new homes.

Homes England, the Government’s national housing agency, is funding the works to facilitate the building of much needed new homes in Mid Sussex.

The Northern Arc planning application is available to view online now at https://pa.midsussex.gov.uk/online-applications/ using the reference DM/18/5114.
