Council Meetings

Meetings postponedMid Sussex District Council meetings have been postponed since 24 March 2020 to comply with the Government's social distancing measures and to help prevent the spread of corornavirus.

As group gatherings are still prohibited and are likely to remain so for some time, the Government has passed new legislation to allow Councils to meet virtually using modern technology.

Our first online meeting will be Cabinet on 1 June at 4pm and you can follow all the debate via our YouTube Channel.

West Sussex County Council (WSCC) reopened Household Waste Recycling Sites (HWRS) across West Sussex on Monday 11th May.

Although the waste sites are open, WSCC is asking you to consider if your journey is absolutely essential before making the trip.

From Monday 1st June, the range of items will be extended to include garden waste, general household waste, wood, cardboard, electrical items, bulky items, and furniture. The HWRS are currently unable to accept soil / hardcore, plasterboard, asbestos, tyres or textiles for the time being. ID will be required from all vehicles attending site

Vans and pickups will be permitted on the sites, but will need to display their WSCC permit to access the site. Trailers will continue to be rejected for the time being due to the operational changes made to sites.

Normal summer opening hours will be in operation. Once at the sites there will be certain measures in place for the safety of visitors and staff.
