Business as usual for Building Control

RoofOur Building Control service remains ‘open for business’ to support the building industry during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Building Regulations applications can be submitted online, Make a Building Control Application - Mid Sussex District Council, and we continue to offer site inspections where this can be done safely and in line with the guidance issued by Public Heath England (PHE) which includes:

No one on-site shielding

No one on-site showing coronavirus symptoms

Social distancing measures are followed

You can find full guidance, prepared by the Construction Leadership Council at Site-Operating-Procedures-Version-7.pdf

If you have any questions or queries you can contact us by email at buildingcontrol@midsussex,gov.uk or by phone on 01444 477570.

Although most legal restrictions have been lifted and many people have been vaccinated, Coronavirus has not gone away and remains a serious health risk. It is still possible to catch and spread COVID-19, even if you are fully vaccinated, so it remains important we all take steps to protect each other.

COVID-19 will be a feature of our lives for the foreseeable future, so we need to learn to live with it and manage the risk to ourselves and others. Everyone must continue to get a test if you develop COVID-19 symptoms, even if your symptoms are mild, and isolate if you test positive or are told to do so by NHS Test and Trace. You can help to protect yourself and others by limiting the number of people you socialise with, keeping your distance, meeting outside or letting fresh air in.

If you have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine, you should get vaccinated because it is a safe and effective way to obtain the best protection against COVID-19.
